BMW to Build V8 M3s for 2001? Is This LEGAL?

The rumors continue to fly as we all await the official word from BMW. Apparently, at least one V8 powered BMW M3 will be entered at the Grand American sanctioned Daytona Rolex 24.
The Grand American Road Racing Association (GARRA) allows for the V8 M3s. The BIG question is if V8 M3s will be allowed under the ACO dictated rules of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). The SUSPENSE is TOO MUCH!!!
